A 27-year-old Schofield Barracks man is in custody for allegedly trying to push his wife out of his vehicle while driving on the H-1 freeway.

Police said the man was arguing with his 24-year-old wife in their vehicle about 10:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

When the woman tried to get out, the man stopped her, then sped off onto the westbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway near Kunia, police said. On the freeway, the man allegedly opened the door and tried to push the woman out, police said.

The couple returned to their Kunia home and the woman reported the incident later in the day. Police found the man in Pearl City and arrested him for investigation of second-degree attempted murder and kidnapping.
