MAKE THEN FLOAT YOUR BOAT

Bayfest isn’t until mid-July, but if you are planning to build a boat for the annual Bayfest Bathtub Regatta, the race has already started. The July 17 regatta features handmade, original watercraft from materials usually not considered seaworthy. Four-person teams must create the boats and row or paddle them through a 100-meter course in Kaneohe Bay. Entries are judged on originality and buoyancy in such categories as best craft and funniest design. Bayfest will run July 15 to 17 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
