BYUH and UHH head to regional
The Brigham Young-Hawaii and Hawaii-Hilo women’s volleyball teams are going to San Bernardino, Calif., for the NCAA Division II West Regional.
A third team from the Pacific West Conference, Grand Canyon, is also playing in the tournament.
BYUH (18-3), the PacWest champion, enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed and will play unbeaten host Cal State San Bernardino in the quarterfinals Thursday.
Hawaii-Hilo (15-6), the sixth seed, plays Sonoma State in another quarterfinal match Thursday.
Chun second at tourney in New York
Hawaii’s Clarissa Chun took second place in her division in the New York Athletic Club Holiday International Wrestling Championships on Sunday.
Chun made it to the final of the 105.5-pound division, where she lost to Jessica MacDonald of Canada 2-1, 4-1.
