Forecasters predict rain, slight chance of thunderstorms
An increased chance of rain, perhaps even thunderstroms, is in the forecast for the state because of unstable weather moving over the state.
Yet another upper atmosphere weather system is developing and moving over Hawaii, the National Weather Service said. However this system is not expected to generate the same kind of heavy rains and flooding conditions we experienced Friday and Saturday.
Tradewinds are also expected to return today.
Forecasters say the unstable conditions will bring heavier than usual tradewind showers through the weekend and a slight chance of thunderstorms in windward areas and the leeward sections of the Big Island in the afternoons.
