With two popular destinations on its football road schedule this season, the University of Hawaii said it will request about 6,000 tickets to address fan demands for games at the University of Washington and Nevada-Las Vegas.

UH said it will request "about 2,400 tickets on consignment" for the Sept. 10 game at Washington and, under the terms of its contract, may ask for as many as 4,000. For the Sept. 17 game at UNLV, UH said it plans to request "between 3,500 and 4,000 tickets."

UH associate athletic director Carl Clapp said the school "may request more based upon demand."

Estimates placed about 8,000 UH fans — including those living in the Pacific Northwest — among the announced 42,912 at the Warriors’ game with Washington State at Qwest Field in 2009. Meanwhile, the now biennial game in Las Vegas has been the regular-season favorite of UH fans, with Warriors supporters estimated to number 12,000 to 15,000 a game at the 36,800-seat Sam Boyd Stadium in recent visits.

UH said it will shortly announce details on how to purchase tickets for those and other road games.

Purchased through UH, sideline tickets for the UNLV game will be $53, which includes a $10 fee.

A UNLV spokesman said tickets for the game will not be available through the host to the general public until "sometime in August."

A UW spokesman said tickets for its game will go on sale Aug. 1.

For tickets purchased through UH, the school said ordering and ticket allocation will be done on a priority basis, with Ahahui Koa Anuenue sport package patrons and UH corporate partners followed by season-ticket holders, Road Warrior Package patrons, travel agencies and the general public.
