UH takes seventh in WAC cross country
The Hawaii women’s cross country team finished in seventh place in the Western Athletic Conference cross country championships on Saturday at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Ashlee Jimenez was the Rainbow Wahine’s top finisher in 39th place. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 20 minutes, 14.5 seconds.
Idaho took the team title with 38 points, and New Mexico State’s Courtney Schultz won top individual honors for the third straight year in 17:36.5.
BYUH women place second in PacWest
Brigham Young-Hawaii’s Lacey Krout (18 minutes, 18.2 seconds) placed second and Katherine Buxton (18:25.1) finished fifth in the 5-kilometer Pacific West Conference women’s cross country championships on Saturday in Goodyear, Ariz.
As a team, the Seasiders placed second with 48 points, behind first-place Cal Baptist (30 points).
Hawaii Pacific, led by Shannon White (16th place, 19:32.8), finished fourth.
Chaminade, paced by Emily Ochsner (11th place, 19:15), was sixth.
Hawaii-Hilo’s top finisher was Nadia Ramirez (31st, 21:02.2), and the Vulcans took eighth.
In the men’s 8K race, a ninth-place finish by Spencer Deavila (25:13.2) led BYUH to a third-place team finish. The Seasiders, with 82 points, finished behind Cal Baptist (41) and Academy of Art (75).
Hawaii Pacific finished in fifth place, thanks in part to a third-place finish by Dany Malley (24:33).
Chaminade, led by Garrett Prinslow (17th, 25:54.4), took seventh place.
UHH sweeps Academy of Art in volleyball
Hillary Hurley put down 23 kills to lead Hawaii-Hilo to a 25-20, 25-10, 25-22 women’s volleyball win over Academy of Art on Saturday in Hilo.
Nicole Conley had 33 assists for the Vulcans (12-6, 8-5 Pacific West Conference).
Leinani Keanini had 12 kills to lead the Urban Knights (7-14, 3-7).
Bukoski’s scores 3 to power Hawaii Pacific
Chance Bukoski scored three goals to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 5-0 victory over Chaminade in men’s soccer on Saturday at Atherton Field in Kaneohe.
Bukoski also assisted on Keenan Ho’s goal, and Ho assisted on Alan Albertazzi’s goal for the Sea Warriors (13-4, 9-2 PacWest).
Goalkeeper Jose Miguel Pena made eight saves for the Silverswords (0-14-2, 0-10-1).

Shelby Moriguchi, Yasmina Taketa and Andrea Aguirre scored the goals for the Sea Warriors (9-5-2, 6-3-2).
Goalkeeper Kainoa Makua stopped 11 shots for the Silverswords (1-15, 1-10).
