Woman held in murder attempt
A 42-year-old Kaneohe woman is charged with trying to kill a 42-year-old man during a drunken argument Tuesday in Kahaluu.
Jodi Durell was charged Thursday with second-degree attempted murder and was being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Police said Durell was drinking with the man near the Hygienic Store about 2:30 p.m. when they argued and the man allegedly hit Durell. She got into her truck and drove at the man, police said. The man’s leg was pinned against a wall, according to emergency dispatch reports. Paramedics took him to the hospital in serious condition.
Suspect arrested in car theft
A 27-year-old homeless man was arrested after a routine traffic stop turned up more serious offenses Friday morning at the Hygienic Store in Kahaluu.
Police said that after the 11:15 a.m. stop, it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen, and that the man also possessed two credit cards and two driver’s licenses issued to other people.
The man was subsequently arrested for unauthorized control of a vehicle and related charges.
