Swami Bhaskarananda, spiritual guide for the Vedanta Society of Hawaii, will give talks on topics each Sunday in November.
All talks will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Laniakea YWCA at 1040 Richards St. The topics include “Learning to Be Happy” on Nov. 6, “How to Overcome Fear” on Nov. 13, “Meditation and Its Benefits” on Nov. 20 and “Judging Your Own Spiritual Progress” on Nov. 27.
The goal of the Vedanta Society of Hawaii, in existence since the 1950s, is to disseminate the ethics, psychology and the universal spiritual philosophy of Vedanta through the practice and culture of reason, love, meditation and work, a news release said.
Vedanta is a faith rooted in Hinduism and holds that everything is divine, according to a link on the Vedanta Society of Hawaii website. Call 386-4172 for information.
