» Pacific (Ore.) sophomore Rob Dittrick (Mid-Pacific ’09) was named the Northwest Conference pitcher of the year on Monday. Dittrick pitched a school-record 872⁄3 innings, posting an 8-3 record with a 2.26 ERA. His eight wins are tied for the second most in school history and he threw five complete games.

» Nevada senior Waylen Sing-Chow (Kamehameha ’07) led the Wolf Pack with a .556 average, batting 5-for-9 with three doubles and three runs scored as Nevada lost three of four against Hawaii.

» San Diego junior Zack Kometani (Punahou ’08) finished 8-for-13 with a triple, stolen base and five RBIs as the Toreros took two of three against San Francisco over the weekend.

» Southern Utah junior Mitchell Kauweloa (Kamehameha ’08) went 1-for-2 with a run and two RBIs as the Thunderbirds beat Centenary College 6-5 on Saturday to earn a split of the four-game series. Kauweloa went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Justin Neuhart (Molokai ’07) hit a two-run double in the opener on Friday as the Thunderbirds won 12-1 in eight innings.

» Loyola Marymount center fielder Zac Fujimoto (Maryknoll ’08) went 1-for-3 with two runs scored on Monday as the Lions completed a three-game sweep of Cal State Bakersfield with an 8-2 victory. Fujimoto finished 4-for-11 with four runs scored in the series, hitting twice in the leadoff spot.

» Northwestern junior Paul Snieder (Punahou ’08) went 4-for-11 with a home run and three RBIs as the Wildcats lost two of three against Indiana over the weekend.

» Cal State Northridge senior Ridge Carpenter (Kalani ’07) went 4-for-10 with a double, stolen base and two runs scored as the Matadors took two of three against UC Santa Barbara over the weekend to claim their first Big West series victory of the season.

WOMEN’S GOLF

» UCLA junior Stephanie Kono (Punahou ’08) birdied the 17th and 18th holes to shoot 4-under 68 and tie for individual medalist honors in the NCAA Central Regional on Saturday in South Bend, Ind. Kono finished 2 over to tie LSU’s Megan McChrystal, who is the No. 1 ranked player in the country, according to Golfstat.

» Tulsa sophomore Kristina Merkle (Moanalua ’09) and Portland State sophomore Britney Yada (Waiakea ’09) finished tied for 89th place at 23-over 239 in the NCAA West Regional on Saturday in Auburn, Wash. Merkle sandwiched a round of 77 between 81s, while Yada shot 77, 82 and 80.

» Pacific (Ore.) senior Valerie Kitamori (Waiakea ’07) finished her Boxers career with a third-place finish in the PGA Minority College Championships in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Sunday. Kitamori shot her best round, a 4-over 76, on Sunday to finish at 16 over for the tournament.

SOFTBALL

» Florida State freshman Courtney Senas (Mililani ’10) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and two RBIs in a 9-4 win over nationally ranked Georgia Tech to avoid a sweep in a three-game series on Sunday. Senas finished 3-for-8 in the series.

» Mississippi State junior Kaili Smith (Kapolei ’08) had three hits in the Bulldogs’ 10-2 loss to Georgia in the regular-season finale on Sunday. Smith finished the series 4-for-8 and is 10-for-21 with a double and two RBIs in her past seven games. The Bulldogs will play top-seeded Alabama in the first round of the SEC tournament tomorrow.» Eastern Kentucky pitcher Noelani Esperas (Kamehameha ’07) allowed one run on seven hits in 41⁄3 innings with one walk and four strikeouts and Shyenne Hussey (Kailua ’06) was 2-for-6 with a double, run and RBI as both players finished their college careers with a 9-2 victory over Southeast Missouri on Sunday.

» New Mexico State sophomore Tehani Ka‘aihue (Kapolei ’09) went 3-for-6 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and senior Hoku Nohara (Kamehameha ’07) was 3-for-5 with two walks and two runs scored to help the Aggies sweep Boise State on Saturday and clinch the Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship. Shaleese Javillo (Kamehameha ’08) scored once in both games as a pinch runner.

» St. Martin’s (Wash.) sophomore Joslyn Eugenio (Sacred Hearts ’09) was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and pitched a complete game in a 6-5 victory over Western Oregon in the second game of a doubleheader split on Saturday. Eugenio allowed 10 hits and five runs — two earned — in seven innings with two walks. Wolves senior Tierra-Lyn Cuba (Mililani ’07) was 3-for-3 with a double, stolen base and two runs scored in a 7-6 win in the opener. Eugenio doubled and drove in two runs, and Jaimee Aiwohi (Mililani ’09) scored and had an RBI for the Saints.

» Bloomfield (N.J.) freshman Angie Yoshizu (University ’10) tripled and scored a run in an 8-5 win over Concordia on Thursday and was 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 6-3 loss to Dominican. The Deacons were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CCAC tournament on Friday.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

» Cal State Northridge senior Brooke Doane (Kamehameha ’07), the school’s all-time leader in doubles wins and doubles winning percentage, was named All-Big West in both singles and doubles last week. Doane finished the season 21-5 in doubles and is 71-15 in her four-year career. Doane was 11-13 in singles and is 44-40 in her career in singles.

» DePauw (Ind.) senior Janelle Arita (Punahou ’07) won both her singles and doubles matches in a 6-3 loss to Washington (Mo.) on Saturday, ending the Tigers’ regular season. DePauw will host the first three rounds of the NCAA Division III championships beginning this weekend.

» Mesa State junior Kelleen Sera (Lahainaluna ’08) was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all-academic first team last Wednesday. Sera helped lead the Mavericks to their first NCAA regional championship last Sunday and has posted a 17-16 record at No. 1 singles and is 29-5 in doubles this year.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD

» Pacific (Ore.) junior Jenna Matsumoto (University ’08) posted a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday, placing third with a time of 1:06.24 at the Mt. Hood Track and Field Festival in Gresham, Ore. Matsumoto’s time is the third best in school history. Senior Nicole Smith (Kamehameha-Maui ’07) placed sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.91 seconds.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

» Southern California senior setter Riley McKibbin (Punahou ’07) had 59 assists, five digs and two block assists and senior outside hitter Tri Bourne (Academy of the Pacific ’07) hit .429 with a match-high 20 kills, four digs and four block assists in a four-set loss to UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals of the NCAA final four in University Park, Pa., on Thursday. Freshman Henry Cassiday (Punahou ’10) added seven digs for the Trojans, who finished with 23 wins for the first time since 1999.

WOMEN’S WATER POLO

» Redlands (Calif.) sophomore Moana Tuipulotu (Lahainaluna ’09) and Occidental (Calif.) senior Karie Nickle (Kamehameha ’07) were named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team on Thursday. Tigers sophomore Nanea Fujiyama (Kamehameha ’09) was named to the second team. Tuipulotu scored a goal in a 13-7 loss to Iona College on Saturday in the NCAA Division I play-in game.
