Motorists asked to avoid North School Street due to water main break
Honolulu Board of Water Supply workers continue repairs on a broken 16-inch water main near 2255 N. School Street, leaving only one lane of traffic open in each direction between Kamehameha IV Road and Ahonui Street.
The Board of Water Supply asks motorists to use an alternate route during this afternoon’s rush hour and throughout the night. Repair work has closed the two townbound lanes, and a special duty police officer is contra-flowing one of the Ewa-bound lanes.
Other underground utility lines are slowing down excavation.
The 30 homes that are still without water service can find water at:
>> A water wagon across the Weinberg Community Center at 2239 N. School St.;
>> A water wagon by Jack in the Box at North School Street and Kamehameha IV Road.
