Hands-on activities at Grand Hyatt Kauai
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa celebrates Hawaiian cultural and health practices in four days of activities, Oct. 26 to 29.
"Na Lima Hana" — which means "many hands working" — will offer demonstrations and entertainment covering lei-making, weaving, salt-making, drum-making, traditional massage, kapa-making, carving, ancient chants, hula and the uses of taro.

A traveling exhibition from the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles featuring the fashion designs of Alfred Shaheen continues through Oct. 29 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The exhibit is the first major retrospective of textiles and alohawear from Hawaii at the center. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Admission is free. Visit www.mauiarts.org.
