» Jim Pietsch, director of the University of Hawaii’s Elder Law Program, brought an elderly woman and her caregiver into his elder law clinic where the woman signed a blank piece of paper. Pietsch wanted to illustrate that the woman had the ability to sign her name but could not understand a legal document. He first determined that the woman was incapacitated and had the permission of the caregiver. A Page A1 article Wednesday said Pietsch had the woman sign a document.
» Teacher Charlis Lee of Dole Middle School oversaw the team (charlis-ET-20) that was in first place in the Elementary/Middle School Division after the second week of the Hawaii Stock Market Simulation program. Her first name was misspelled in the chart that appeared on Page D5 Sunday.
