State Senate confirms David Louie as attorney general
David Louie has been confirmed as Hawaii’s attorney general, the last of Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s Cabinet appointees to be seated.
The Senate unanimously voted today to approve Louie.
Abercrombie’s Cabinet includes 16 department heads he appointed, along with Department of Education Superintendent Kathryn Matayoshi and University of Hawaii President M.R.C. Greenwood.
Louie previously worked on personal injury defense, construction defect litigation and commercial litigation cases for the law firm of Roeca Louie & Hiraoka.
During his career, Louie has served as the president, vice president and director of the Hawaii State Bar Association.
He has also been a lawyer representative for the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and served as the northwest regional governor for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
