Power restored after Las Vegas Strip outage
LAS VEGAS >> Officials say electricity is back on after a 45-minute power outage that darkened some Las Vegas Strip properties overnight.
NV Energy spokeswoman Jennifer Schuricht told the Las Vegas Sun that about 10 customers in the area of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road were affected by the outage about 10:45 p.m. Monday.
KLAS-TV reports that resorts including the Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas hotel-casinos were affected.
Las Vegas fire spokesman Tim Szymanski (zim-ANN’-skee) says city marshals discovered and doused a transformer fire downtown. He says power was interrupted to some areas downtown around city hall.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
