Koki, Maddison spur Mililani by No. 4 Kapolei

Cheyenne Koki batted 3-for-3, including a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the sixth inning, to lead the Mililani Trojans past the No. 4 Kapolei Hurricanes 4-2 in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Conference softball playoff game yesterday at Kapolei.

Mililani’s Alysia Maddison scattered eights hits in a complete-game performance.

Mililani, which qualified for the state tournament with the victory, will play Kailua in the semifinals tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Central Oahu Regional Park.

Kapolei will host Waianae in a losers bracket game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

Daylene Antonio batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Summer Palipti went 2-for-4 with two runs scored as the Sabers beat the Mules.

Palipti and Sharae Esprecion combined to scatter seven hits for the Sabers.

Nicole Arata and Kayce Konohia both had three hits for Campbell, which scored five runs in the second inning.

Campbell, which qualified for the state tournament with the victory, will play Castle in the semifinals tomorrow at 4 p.m. at CORP.

Leilehua will play at Pearl City in a losers bracket game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the higher seed.

Kailua qualified for the May 3-6 state tournament, scheduled to be played at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
