"CIRQUE DU SOUL" AT MARKS | 1. Cherry Blossom Cabaret members Mabsy (Charity), left, Miss Catwings (God, a celestial puppeteer), Violetta Baretta (Soul) and La Femme Rikita (Pride) came out in costume to meet the audience after the invitation-only preview performance of "VarieTease: Carnal Carnival -- Cirque du Soul" April 7 at the ARTS at Marks Garage. The dolls Mabsy and La Femme Rikita are holding represent their characters in the show but are also part of Miss Catwings' costume. "Carnal Carnival" closes today with a final show at 6:30 p.m.

4. HMA winner Elmer "Sonny" Lim Jr., left, enjoyed the festivities with Napua Makua, winner of traditional Hawaiian album, and her cousin Kamakoa Lindsey-Asing. Lim's award was for his work as a member of Amy Hanaiali'i and Slack Key Masters of Hawaii; the sextet won for contemporary Hawaiian album.

MUSIC AWARDS PRESENTED | 2. Aloha Joe, left, congratulated Hawaii Music Award winners Paul Shimomoto and Greg Sardinha and percussionist-author Von Baron Monday evening during the 15th Annual Hawaii Music Awards at the Japanese Cultural Plaza. Shimomoto won best jazz album; Sardinha was the producer of the album that won in the steel guitar category. Von Baron's first book is due out later this year.

3. Producer Pierre Grill shared a table with recording artist Allison Chu, left, and her sister, 2010 Miss Hawaii Teen USA Julianne Chu. Grill played keyboards for Allison when she sang "Puamana" and "It's Only a Paper Moon" during the awards show.
