Big Island police investigate butchering of cow
Big Island police want information regarding the Feb. 19 shooting of a 2-year-old heifer at a dairy in Ookala.
The heifer had been shot and part of its hindquarters had been removed, police said. The cow’s body was left at Ookala Dairy off Route 19 near the 31-mile marker.
The case has been classified as theft of livestock.
Police are asking anyone with information to call officer Ryan Domingo at 935-3311. Anonymous tips may be made to CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 or 329-8181.
