Police arrest suspect in 3 bank robberies in Central Oahu
Honolulu police arrested a 27-year-old Wahiawa man suspected of robbing a Mililani branch of American Savings Bank twice and robbing another American Savings Bank branch in Wahiawa.
Police said the suspect, wearing a large white hat, bright yellow and orange safety vest, and slippers, demanded money and fled on foot at about 9 a.m. Tuesday from the American Savings Bank branch at the Mililani Town Center.
He is also suspected of robbing the Wahiawa branch of American Savings Bank on the afternoon of Jan. 24 while wearing similar clothing. Police say the suspect was also wanted for the robbery of the Mililani Town Center Branch of American Savings Bank at 95-1249 Meheula Parkway at about noon on Feb. 2.
Police located and arrested him on North Cane Street just before 11 a.m. yesterday. He was being held without bail pending first-degree robbery charges.
