Security guard helps capture car theft suspect
An observant security guard helped capture a suspected car thief in the Ward area yesterday evening, police said.
The guard, a 41-year-old woman, saw a 32-year-old man walking around a parking lot, lifting door handles of vehicles, police said. The woman saw the man allegedly enter a car, searching the vehicle at about 5:45 p.m.
The woman called police and pointed him out to arriving officers. Police arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
