Colorado fire burns nearly 1,200 acres
GOLDEN, Colo. >> Authorities say a wildfire that has forced the evacuation of 100 homes in the foothills west of Denver has burned nearly 1,200 acres.
Federal authorities are set to arrive Tuesday to lead the fight against the fire that started Sunday.
Since then, gusty winds and tinder-dry vegetation have helped fan the fire. It was listed at about 850 acres Monday night but authorities have since revised that.
More strong winds are in the forecast, with gusts as high as 75 mph expected.
The fire is 15 percent contained.
