» Cal State Northridge senior outfielder Ridge Carpenter (Kalani ’07) finished 5-for-14 with four runs scored, three RBIs, three walks, two stolen bases and a double in a four-game series against Lafayette over the weekend.
» UNLV junior Danny Higa (Saint Louis ’08) went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in a 6-5 victory over Valparaiso on Sunday to complete a four-game sweep.
» Northwestern junior Paul Snieder (Punahou ’08) went 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, two runs scored and three RBIs in a 15-9 win over Saint Louis on Sunday to earn a split of a four-game series. Snieder finished the series 6-for-15 with three runs and three RBIs and pitched three hitless innings, allowing a walk and striking out four to earn his second save in an 8-5 victory on Saturday.
» Southern Utah junior Mitchell Kauweloa (Kamehameha ’08) finished 6-for-14 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs in a four-game series against Louisiana-Monroe over the weekend. Junior Justin Neuhart (Molokai ’07) hit a home run and two doubles, driving in two runs and scoring twice for the Thunderbirds, who were swept.
» Portland sophomore J.R. Bunda (‘Iolani ’09) allowed seven hits and four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings, striking out two and walking one in a 10-7 win over Hawaii Saturday.
» Claremont-Mudd-Scripps freshman first baseman Brett Watanabe (‘Iolani ’10) finished 5-for-11 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs as the Stags took two of three games over Pomona-Pitzer over the weekend.

» Whittier (Calif.) freshman Sean-Michael Nada (‘Iolani ’10) had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run in a three-game series against Cal Lutheran that ended on Saturday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
» Utah sophomore Iwalani Rodrigues (Kalani ’08) nailed three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks in a 52-47 upset win over TCU to win the Mountain West Conference tournament championship and clinch a berth in the NCAA tournament. The Utes were handed a 15 seed and will play second-seeded Notre Dame on Saturday. Rodrigues was named to the all-tournament team and set a tournament record for most 3-pointers with 13.
MEN’S GOLF
» Oregon State freshman David Fink (‘Iolani ’09) shot a final-round 75 to finish in a tie for 10th place at 4-over 220 in the Brandon Dunes Championship. Oregon senior Sean Maekawa (Honokaa ’07) finished in a tie for 48th place at 16 over.
» San Diego junior Alex Ching (Punahou ’08) entered the final round tied for first before shooting a 79 to finish in a tie for seventh place at 2-over 218 at the San Diego Intercollegiate yesterday. Ching shot rounds of 71 and 68 earlier.
» San Francisco freshman Alika Bell (Kamehameha ’10) shot a 77 yesterday to finish in a tie for eighth place at 8-over 221 at the Triumph at Pauma Valley.
WOMEN’S GOLF
» James Madison junior Nicole Sakamoto (Kalani ’08) shot a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 46th place at 15 over at the James Madison Eagle Landing Invite that concluded Sunday.
» Furman (S.C.) senior Jackie Hilea (Moanalua ’07) shot rounds of 79, 81 and 79 to finish in a tie for 74th place at 23 over in the LSU Classic that ended Sunday.
» Cal State Northridge senior Ashlee Nagamine (La Pietra ’07) shot a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 59th place at 22 over in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course yesterday.
WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
» Pennsylvania freshman Keolamau Yee (Punahou ’10) placed first in balance beam with a season-high score of 9.8 in the Quakers’ final home competition of the year. Yee finished 12th in floor exercise with a 9.6.
SOFTBALL
» Brigham Young first baseman Katie Manuma (Campbell ’10) hit a solo home run in the Cougars’ 6-4 upset of defending national champion and ninth-ranked UCLA on Saturday in the Long Beach Invitational. Manuma has started 18 games and is hitting .241 with two homers. The Cougars visit Honolulu this week to play in the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament, which begins today.
» East Carolina sophomore Kristi Oshiro (Mililani ’10) drove in the go-ahead run and catcher Kai Clark (Kapolei ’09) doubled and had two RBIs in a 4-1 win over Memphis Saturday. Shortstop Chelsea Kaluhiokalani-Glackin (St. Francis ’10) singled and drove in a run in a 4-0 win over Charleston Southern yesterday.
» Mississippi State junior Kaili Smith (Kapolei ’08) reached base in all seven plate appearances on Saturday, going 4-for-4 with two walks and a hit by pitch as the Bulldogs split a doubleheader against Florida State.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
» Southern California sophomore Christel Simms (Punahou ’09) and UCLA senior Brittany Beauchan (Punahou ’07) will compete in the NCAA Championships that begin tomorrow and run through Saturday. Simms will compete in the 200 medley relay for the Trojans while Beauchan will compete in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.

» Redlands senior Sara Yoshinaga (‘Iolani ’07) pulled off a three-set victory at No. 3 singles to give the Bulldogs a 5-4 win over Trinity (Tex.) on Sunday. Yoshinaga also won her No. 1 doubles match.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
» Stanford senior Spencer McLachlin (Punahou ’07) netted 21 kills and junior Brad Lawson (‘Iolani ’08) added 17 to help the Cardinal complete a weekend sweep with a four-set victory over UC San Diego on Saturday. Lawson added 11 digs for a double-double and Erik Shoji (Punahou ’08) followed a 16-dig effort in Friday’s win over UC Irvine with 13 against the Tritons.
» Southern California senior Riley McKibbin (Punahou ’07) posted a double-double with 44 assists and 12 digs and Tri Bourne (Academy of the Pacific ’07) hit .296 with nine kills in a four-set victory over UC Irvine on Saturday. Freshman libero Henry Cassiday (Punahou ’10) added a match-high 15 digs for the Trojans.
» Long Beach State freshman Taylor Crabb (Punahou ’10) had 10 kills, six digs, two assists and an ace in a four-set victory over Penn State on Saturday.
» Massachusetts Institute of Technology senior Caine Jette (Maui ’06) had a team-high eight digs and an ace in a three-set sweep of Mount Ida College on Saturday.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
» Harvard freshman Shayna Price (Punahou ’10) scored two goals and sophomore Aisha Price (Punahou ’09) added a goal to help the Crimson start their California road trip with an 8-7 win over Santa Clara on Sunday.
» Pacific (Calif.) senior Dara Tawarahara (‘Iolani ’07) led the Tigers with three goals, an assist and a steal in an 8-6 win over Wagner in their first game of the Aztec Invitational. Tawarahara had a goal, two assists and a steal in Pacific’s only loss of the weekend, an 8-7 defeat to San Jose State.
» UC San Diego senior Hanalei Crowell (Kamehameha ’07) scored six goals in the Aztec Invitational over the weekend, but the Tritons finished 0-4. Crowell had two goals and three assists in a 13-12 overtime loss to Princeton on Saturday. Crowell leads UCSD with 32 goals this season.
» Siena (N.Y.) senior Nicole Hagi (Kapolei ’07) scored five goals in a 9-6 victory over Grove City and added another in a 12-5 loss to Maryland on Sunday on the final day of the Michigan Invitational.
» Whittier (Calif.) sophomore attacker Kirsten Davis (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’08) scored two goals in a 13-9 win over Wheaton on Saturday and added three goals in a 14-5 victory over Macalester College on Sunday.
