A lava flow from the Kamoamoa Eruption on Kilauea Volcano  has sparked a slow-moving wildfire, officials said.

Firefighters were battling the blaze that burned at least 75 acres, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park officials said yesterday.

The lava-ignited fire is creeping through ohia forest, fueled by uluhe fern, they said. The area has had two previous fires due to lava flows.

Firefighters set up two large dipping ponds on Chain of Craters Road for water-bucket drops if needed, park officials said. Firefighters plan to fly over the area this morning to assess the situation.
