Mickey wants you

CINDY ELLEN RUSSELL / CRUSSELL@STARADVERTISER.COM
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse were at a ground breaking ceremony in Ko Olina on Wednesday. The $800 million dollar Disney themed resort is projected to be finished by 2011 and will employ 1,000 people.

Disney is looking for “aunty” and “uncle” types who can sing and play ukulele for its Aulani resort at Ko Olina, with auditions at 10 a.m. April 4 at Nix Performing Arts Center in Aiea. Or maybe you’d rather use your acting chops to perform as Goofy or Minnie Mouse — character auditions are April 7. The resort, opening in August, also needs emcee/hosts with hula experience; tryouts are April 6. Singers and dancers may audition for Disney Cruise Line on April 1 and 2.
