Suspects set fire to Waipio ATM in attempted theft
Police are looking for the person or persons responsible for setting fire to an ATM during an attempted theft last week in Waipio.
The bandits set fire to the ATM while trying to steal its contents, but failed to open the safe about 3:30 a.m. March 3, police said.
They fled before police arrived. Police and firefighters found the ATM after the fire was extinguished.
Firefighters determined the fire was intentionally set, and police opened an arson investigation.
