Hawaii men take C-USA lead
Hawaii is in first place after the first of four days at the Conference USA swimming and diving championships in Houston yesterday.
Hawaii has 144 points, followed by North Dakota with 92 and East Carolina with 89.
Two Rainbow Warriors relay teams took first place – the 200-yard medley team of Vlad Anastasescu, Perry Sharify, Ryan Pickett and Ilia Reyes in 1 minute, 28.43 seconds and the 800-yard medley team of Luca Mazzurana, Sean Reilly, Lazar Bogdanaovski and James Clark in 6:34.27.
The UH divers turned in a strong day. Thomas Rugg took top honors in 1-meter diving with a score of 325.40. Douglas Cohen (318.50) finished second and Luke Hayes took fourth (294).
Rainbow Wahine tied for second in swimming
The Hawaii women’s swimming and diving team is in a tie for second place heading into the today’s second day of the WAC championships at San Antonio.
Boise State leads the competition with 80 points, followed by Hawaii, New Mexico State and San Jose State all with 56 points.

Hawaii’s Anathea Accornero finished first in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.68 seconds.
The Rainbow Wahine team of Christa Prior, Ricarda Schellenberg, Taylor Rittenberg and Maura Barrett took second in the 800 freestyle relay.
