UH tennis team picks up first win

The Hawaii men’s tennis team earned its first win of the spring with a 5-2 victory over San Diego State yesterday at the Aztec Tennis Center.

San Diego State won the doubles point, but UH claimed five of six singles matches. UH senior Dennis Lajola defeated Giovanni Vaglietti in No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0.

UH-Hilo seventh in golf tourney

A rough start led to a seventh-place finish for the Hawaii-Hilo women’s golf team at the Lady Rattler Roundup in San Antonio.

The Vulcans posted a two-round team score of 662. St. Edward’s won the 13-team tournament with a total of 608.

Nyssa Aoki shot an 84 yesterday and led the Vulcans with a two-round score of 159 to finish the tournament in 15th place.
