Services this week for former OHA leader

Adelaide Conette Keanuenueokalaninuiamamao "Frenchy" DeSoto, 81, of Waianae, a former Office of Hawaiian Affairs chairwoman and Hawaiian activist, will be remembered in services 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel.

DeSoto died Jan. 21 in Waianae.

She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons John, Bruce, Ronald and Manny; daughter Laura DeSoto-McCollough; sister Patricia Layton; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
