Couple arrested in vehicle thefts

A 19-year-old man and his 19-year-old girlfriend were arrested Saturday for allegedly stealing two vehicles belonging to the man’s 61-year-old mother in Kalihi, police said.

The pair allegedly stole the vehicles Friday morning and were arrested Saturday around 11:30 a.m., police said.

Police recovered one of the vehicles on Friday and the other Saturday.

Ashtray allegedly used as weapon

An argument ended with a 32-year-old man allegedly hitting his 33-year-old girlfriend in the face with an ashtray in their Kapolei home, police said.

Police arrested the boyfriend around 3:45 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly threw the ashtray at his girlfriend during an argument at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Ex-girlfriend accused of assault

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman Saturday after she allegedly assaulted her ex-boyfriend at his Kalihi residence the night before.

According to police, the two were arguing when the woman began choking and beating the man.

The man left the residence and called police, who located and arrested the suspect for alleged abuse of a family or household member.
