Wahiawa woman cited in Waikiki for attempted poolside purse theft
Honolulu police cited a 24-year-old Wahiawa woman with fourth degree theft for allegedly attempting to steal a purse left poolside at the Shearaton Waikiki hotel.
Police said the woman picked up the purse and attempted to walk away with it at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
But the owner of the purse, a 47-year-old woman, was only a few feet away and confronted the younger woman, police said.
Hotel security was called and they detained the suspect until police arrived. She was cited for theft Wednesday night and held on $500 bail.
