Police arrested two teenage boys for allegedly stealing a bag left on a Waikiki beach yesterday afternoon.

The 61-year-old woman left her bag on the beach to go to the restroom at about 3 p.m. and discovered the bag missing when she returned, police said. 

A 62-year-old man saw two boys, ages 17 and 14, take the bag and called authorities, police said. 

Department of Defense police officers caught up with the boys a short distance away and recovered the bag, which had the woman’s credit cards and driver’s license inside, police said.

Honolulu police arrested the boys, who were later released pending further investigation.
