MEN’S BASKETBALL

» Holy Names junior guard Obie Woods (Aiea ’08) scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, in an 83-60 win over Bethany University on Monday.

» La Verne (Calif.) center Jack Mayer (Maryknoll ’10) made his only shot attempt and added seven rebounds in 22 minutes of a 53-52 loss to Whittier (Calif.) on Saturday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

» Utah sophomore guard Iwalani Rodrigues (Kalani ’08) scored 27 points, her fifth game of at least 20 this season, shooting 11-for-18 in a 70-67 overtime win over San Diego State on Saturday.

» UNLV junior Jamie Smith (‘Iolani ’08) had 10 points and six rebounds before fouling out of a 68-60 loss to TCU on Saturday.

» Concordia (Calif.) senior Nicole Fu (Maryknoll ’07) finished with 15 points, five rebounds and five steals in a 66-46 win over Fresno Pacific last Thursday.

» Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomore Anna Merrifield (Punahou ’09) posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and chipped in three assists in a 63-50 loss to Clark University last Wednesday.

» Cal State Northridge forward Violet Alama (Kalani ’09) posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 64-50 loss to Long Beach State last Wednesday. Janelle Nomura (Punahou ’09) added two points, five rebounds and three assists and Analee Viena-Lota (Kamehameha ’07) had five points, six rebounds and three assists for the Matadors.

» Mayville (N.D.) State junior center Kira DeMorales (Waiakea ’08) scored a game-high 21 points on 10-for-12 shooting and added eight rebounds in a 65-52 loss to Dickinson State on Friday.

» Pacific (Ore.) sophomore guard Ashley Jacobs (Kailua ’09) had 12 points and three assists off the bench and Kristen Corrales (Kailua ’08) added five points, two assists and two steals in an 89-53 loss to George Fox on Saturday.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD

» Dartmouth sophomore Joy Piotrowski (Punahou ’09) placed sixth in the triple jump (35-6 3/4 ) and 12th in the long jump (14-7 3/4 ) at the Dartmouth Relays on Sunday.

 

WOMEN’S SWIMMING

» UCLA senior Brittany Beauchan (Punahou ’07) finished in first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.67) in the final home dual meet of her career, a 169-106 win over Washington State on Friday.
