Man arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at estranged wife and her son
A 44-year-old man, who allegedly pointed a gun at his estranged wife and her 16-year-old son, surrendered to police Thursday in Wahiawa.
The woman, 44, and the boy were in a vehicle in Waialua when the man rode up on a bicycle about 3:20 p.m., police said.
He took a handgun from the front waistband of his pants and pointed it at both victims, police said. The woman sped off, then reported the incident to police.
Police unsuccessfully searched the area for the gunman.
The man, of no local address, turned himself in at the Wahiawa Police Substation about 7:10 p.m. He was booked on suspicion of two counts of terroristic threatening and nine counts of violating a temporary restraining order.
