A 48-year-old Kapahulu man, apparently angry over a parking ticket, assaulted two people yesterday, police said.

The incident happened at about noon near the corner of Winam and Brokaw streets in Kapahulu.

Police said an officer cited a vehicle for a parking violation. The vehicle’s driver, who lives nearby, argued with a 20-year-old man who had called police.

The argument became violent and the suspect beat up the 20-year-old man and hit the victim’s father, a 58-year-old man, police said.

Police arrested the 48-year-old suspect at the scene for second and third-degree assault.
