Hungry for vinyl?

Thursday through Saturday, longtime independent music store Hungry Ear will be giving away for free any five vinyl LPs priced at $4 or less, with a limit of one visit per customer. Patrons can choose from the Kailua store’s stock of used rock, soul, jazz and hip-hop records. New and used CDs, DVDs and vinyl also will be on sale and the store’s clearance CD section will be priced at $1 per disc. Hungry Ear is located at 418 Kuulei Road. Contest: Win your own Kanani

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is giving away two American Girl Kanani dolls to the age-group winners of our design-an-outfit contest.

1. Ages 8 years old and younger: Use the muumuu outline provided here to draw a fabric design.
2. Ages 9 to 13 years old: Design an entire outfit for Kanani and send in your drawing.

Entries must be hand-drawn and submitted by mail; e-mail entries will not be accepted. No 3-D entries (don’t glue on any objects). One entry per child. Entries must be postmarked by Jan. 14. One winner in each age group will receive an American Girl Kanani doll. Winning designs will be published Jan. 27 in the Today Style section. Attach the entry form below. Entries cannot be returned.
