Surveillance photos captured a man suspected in a robbery yesterday at the Bank of Hawaii branch at 101 N. King St. in Kalihi. The man also may be responsible for robbing the Bishop Street branches of Territorial Savings & Loan on Dec. 9 and Hawaii National Bank on Tuesday.
Man suspected of robbing 2 banks hits third branch
Honolulu police are looking for a man suspected of robbing three banks in the last month.
The latest robbery happened at about 9:50 a.m. yesterday at the Bank of Hawaii branch at 101 N. King St. in Kalihi. Police say the man approached a teller and demanded money.
He fled on foot.
The suspect is described as in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 220 and 240 pounds. He was wearing a yellow dress shirt, khaki long pants, a white baseball cap and wire prescription glasses.
The description and surveillance photos from the banks appear to show the same suspect who robbed two downtown Honolulu banks earlier this month — Hawaii National Bank at 841 Bishop St. at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday and Territorial Savings & Loan at 1000 Bishop St. on Dec. 9.
The man is not believed to be the so-called "backpack bandit," who is wanted for four bank robberies this year.

Kaneohe man dies after dive at falls
A 26-year-old Kaneohe man apparently drowned Friday at Kipu Falls on Kauai.
The man was trying to swim to the edge of the pond after diving off the falls when he went underwater at about 5:50 p.m. but failed to resurface, a Kauai County spokeswoman said.
Responding firefighters found the man at the bottom of the pond and transferred him to paramedics, who took him to Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where he died.
Anahola shooting victim ID’d
Kauai police have identified the victim of Friday’s shooting in Anahola to be Aureo Arick Moore, 34, of Kapaa.
An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow.
Police are continuing their investigation. No one has been charged.
