Taliban reject Obama war strategy review
KABUL, Afghanistan >> The Taliban have rejected the review of President Barack Obama’s year-old war strategy in Afghanistan, saying that it has failed on both the military and the civil administration fronts.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in an emailed statement Friday that the past nine years of war have proven that increased troop levels had no effect.
Mujahid said that failed public services, corruption, insecurity and increased civilian casualties were the result of “the failed American strategy.”
The Obama review unveiled Thursday says Taliban momentum has been halted in many parts of Afghanistan.
