Man allegedly smashes in-law’s house, truck, boat in Kaneohe
A 46-year-old homeless man repeatedly used a vehicle to ram his father-in-law’s truck and boat in Kaneohe, then hit a neighbor who tried to intervene, police said.
The younger man drove to his in-laws’ home about 12:30 p.m. Monday and rammed his 68-year-old father-in-law’s truck and boat, police said. He returned and rammed the truck from a different angle, smashed all the glass doors and windows of the man’s home, and rammed the boat a second time, police said.
A neighbor who tried to stop the assailant was hit by the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.
When police arrived, the man resisted arrest, police said.
The 68-year-old man and the younger man have temporary restraining orders against each other, police said.
Officers booked the man on suspicion of three counts of criminal property damage, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and three counts of violating a restraining order.
