Completed registration forms for the District 1 contest must be received or postmarked by midnight on Monday. Forms are available at satellite city halls, U.S. post offices and on the Internet.

The election will be conducted almost exclusively through the mail, and about 46,000 registered voters will receive ballots starting on Dec. 8. Results are to be announced on Dec. 29.

Fourteen candidates have filed to run for the remainder of Apo’s term, which expires Jan. 2, 2013.

Apo resigned earlier this month to work for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
