Driver, 60, leads police on high-speed chase in alleged stolen vehicle
A 60-year-old man allegedly driving a stolen vehicle led a police officer on a high-speed chase through Honolulu early this morning before he was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, driving without a license and driving a stolen vehicle, police said.
A patrol officer saw the vehicle running without headlights around 4 a.m. this morning and was trying to get behind it when the driver sped off "at a high rate of speed," police said.
When the vehicle finally stopped, both the driver and a passenger fled.
The officer arrested the driver.
