OPERA BALL 2010! "The Devil May Care" was the theme for Hawaii Opera Theatre's Opera Ball 2010, hosted by HOT president and 2010 ball chairman Jim McCoy, center, Nov. 20 at the Sheraton Waikiki. Opera Ball is traditionally Honolulu's top "black tie" fundraiser and this one was no exception, with courtesy martinis before dinner, superb food and preview performances from HOT's upcoming productions of "Faust" and "La Traviata." Honolulu Star-Advertiser VP Dave Kennedy, left, HOT executive director Karen Tiller, general and artistic director Henry Akina and Sheraton Waikiki GM Kelly Sanders joined McCoy in surveying the scene before dinner was served.

FRAMPTON DELIVERS: Peter Frampton looked fresh and ready to go play another show as he relaxed backstage after his superb performance Nov. 15 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Frampton kept his promise about playing a long show: He played for more than two hours without a break and then returned for 30 minutes more. See Burl Burlingame's concert review at www.honolulupulse.com.
