When you get your Bento, save room for EMT database
It’s the App with the perfect name for Hawaii: Bento.
But instead of adding a scoop of rice on your iPad or iPhone, you’ll want to save room for FileMaker Go and EMT FlashCard.
The database was originally created by Emergency Medical Technician David Galson, a ski patrol volunteer, to have medical information available to review during down time or instantly in an emergency. It’s a stand-alone database that can be downloaded to your mobile device and used in places where there is no Internet access.
Galson described his program as a set of digital flashcards that can help EMTs memorize techniques and procedures. But, with its database of first aid, symptoms of illnesses and injury, and pharmacology, it’s useful for anyone who enjoys hiking, boating, trail running and other outdoor activities that could require immediate medical attention.
A mobile sports emergency medical database would be the perfect gift for that coach, team mom or anyone involved with youth sports.
FileMaker Go for iPad is $39.99, $19.99 for iPhone. EMT FlashCards for either device is $9.95.
