>The University of Hawaii’s 10 campuses will close during the Thanksgiving holiday and winter break to comply with labor agreements and save money on energy expenses.

University administrators announced Wednesday that the campuses would be closed to the public on Thursday and from Dec. 20 through Jan 2.

Certain critical or time-sensitive functions or specialized facilities, such as research laboratories, may continue to operate.

Athletic events at UH Manoa and UH Hilo also will be held as scheduled.
