Pedestrian killed in Ahuimanu accident identified
The Honolulu Medical Examiner identified a 28-year-old pedestrian killed in Ahuimanu yesterday morning as Frank Ryder, of Kaneohe.
Ryder died when a sport utility vehicle veered off Kahekili Highway and struck him as he was walking about a quarter-mile south of Okana Road, between Ahuimanu and Ahaolelo roads, at 5:19 a.m., police said.
Ryder suffered severe head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
