UPDATE: A jury found Julienne Goodell guilty of the lesser charges of misdemeanor reckless endangering instead of attempted murder, misdemeanor assault instead of felony assault, and acquitted him of robbery. He was sentenced to a year probation for the endangering charge and a concurrent 30 days probation for the assault. After probation, he completed the court’s HOPE program and court-ordered anger-management classes. 

A grand jury indicted a 30-year-old North Shore man today in connection with the attack on six skateboarders in Sunset Beach.

Julienne Goodell is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and second-degree assault. He is being held on $150,000 bail.

Police said Goodell and two others — a 19-year-old woman and a man in his 20s — attacked the skateboarders at a skate park about 9 p.m. on Nov. 2.

The victims — two women and four men — are all in their 20s.

Police said Goodell and the other two suspects beat a 24-year-old man unconscious with the victims’ skateboards, and the female suspect punched the same man in the face.

Goodell also knocked a 28-year-old man unconscious with a metal pipe before the woman punched the man as he lay on the ground, police said.

All three suspects attacked a 27-year-old man and damaged one victim’s car with rocks and beer bottles after three victims jumped inside, police said.

Undercover officers arrested Goodell at his Mamao Street home on Friday. The other two suspects remain at large.
