LAS VEGAS » Quintin Dailey, a former All-American basketball player who played 10 seasons in the NBA, has died in Las Vegas at age 49.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office yesterday confirmed Dailey’s death to the Associated Press.

The office says the former University of San Francisco star died naturally of hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

Dailey’s death was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Dailey was a two-time West Coast Conference player of the year and an AP All-American in 1982. He played professionally for Chicago, the Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle.

Spectrum going down

The Spectrum is set for one last shot.

The famed arena in South Philadelphia, home of the Flyers and 76ers, will face the wrecking ball at noon on Nov. 23. Former Philadelphia Flyers Bernie Parent and Bobby Clarke, and Philadelphia 76ers Hall of Famer Julius "Dr. J" Erving all won championships playing games at the Spectrum and will be on hand for its final event.

The Spectrum officially closed when Pearl Jam completed its fourth show in five nights on Oct. 31, 2009.

Ellis rejoins Warriors

NBA leading scorer Monta Ellis has rejoined the Golden State Warriors in New York after spending Monday night in Toronto to have his injured back examined. Ellis was diagnosed yesterday with a strained lower back. He underwent X-rays and a CT scan after falling awkwardly to the floor in a 109-102 win over the Raptors.
