HAGATNA, Guam >> Unofficial results from Guam’s gubernatorial election have Republican Sen. Eddie Calvo garnering 19,875 votes to the 19,292 cast for former Democratic Gov. Carl Gutierrez.

With all 58 precincts reporting, the Pacific Daily News reports the Calvo campaign declared victory in Tuesday’s general election, while the Gutierrez team didn’t concede and sent supporters home.

Republican Gov. Felix Camacho was barred from seeking re-election because of term limits.

Calvo is a five-term senator and is the minority leader in the Legislature of the U.S. territory. Gutierrez served two terms as governor, ending in 2002.

Meanwhile, Guam’s congressional delegate, Democratic Madeleine Bordallo, ran unopposed for re-election.
