Pay-per-view problems mar broadcast of Hawaii-Idaho game
College football fans hoping to tune into Oceanic Time-Warner Cable’s pay-per-view coverage of tonight’s Hawaii-Idaho game have been stymied by technical difficulties that have resulted in a virtual blackout of the game on cable.
While some viewers were able to pick up the game during the first quarter, others waited through half-time and beyond with no video or audio to track the game.
Calls to the cable service’s status update line have left some irate fans on hold for over an hour. Recorded messages are directing PPV subscribers to turn to channels 256 or 1256 (for high definition).
