No new cases of active TB found at McKinley High School
The state Department of Health reports there have been no new cases of active tuberculosis found at McKinley High School.
The department began testing at the school after one student was diagnosed with TB in September.
Health officials said Thursday that they have completed the initial evaluation for more than 80 percent of the 197 potentially exposed students and staff.
There are still 36 students who have not completed their evaluation, and the department is working with the school’s administration to follow up with the contacts.
The chief of the Tuberculosis Control Branch, Dr. Richard Brostrom, says additional testing will be conducted in December.
