Pizza on the move in the country
Two weeks ago I wrote about Inferno’s Wood Fire Pizza at Nimitz Highway and Kalihi Street as being the first pizza wood-fire oven truck I know of on Oahu.
Then I heard from Micah Dilcher of Impossibles Pizza, who wanted to fill townies in on the pizzas he’s been serving at Rocky Point on the North Shore since Sept. 7, 2008, from an old airport shuttle bus he equipped with fridges, ovens, freezers and equipment needed to serve up his pizzas, lasagnas and salads.
Without a stationary location, he’s on the move from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, between Sunset and Waimea Bay. He’ll take call-in orders at 499-4741 for $18 18-inch pizzas covering all the basics, with specialty pies such as Mac Nut Pesto Tomato, BBQ Chicken, Thai Chicken and Spinach Garlic White pizzas. Those into build-your-own mode can also choose from $1 regular or $2 specialty toppings such as pesto globs, artichoke, sun-dried tomato and green olives.
Six-cheese lasagna is $8 and sausage lasagna is $10. Check it out if you’re in the area.
