UH golfers in third place
Hawaii is in third place at the Kauai Collegiate Invitational after the second round yesterday.
The Warriors’ T.J. Kua sits in a tie for third. He shot a 2-under 70 yesterday at Puakea Golf Course and is at 3-under 141 for the tournament.
Kua is four shots behind tournament leader Gunner Wiebe of San Diego.
San Diego leads the team standings at 16-under 560, with British Columbia University in second at 5-under 571.
The Warriors are 22 strokes out of first place at 6-over 582.

BYUH sweeps Grand Canyon
Brigham Young-Hawaii swept Grand Canyon 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 in Pacific West Conference women’s volleyball last night in Laie.
Lauren Hagemeyer knocked down 10 kills to lead the Seasiders (11-6, 8-2), while Losaline Faka’osi and Tara Huckvale added nine apiece.
Shelby Taylor led Grand Canyon (10-15, 5-8) with eight kills.
NRA affiliate gives to HHSAA
The Hawaii Friends of NRA, the state affiliate of the National Rifle Association, is donating $5,000 to the Hawaii High School Athletic Association.
The money will be used to purchase 50 high quality spotting scopes for high school air rifle teams.
The HHSAA’s state air riflery tournament is being held today at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
